Foundation Priorities

The HCR ManorCare Foundation was established by HCR ManorCare to enhance the quality of lives in the communities it serves through support of research, education and community-based programs.  Grant requests that support this mission will receive the highest priority. 

HCR ManorCare and its family of more than 60,000 employees are firmly committed to providing the highest quality in health care services, and ensuring that our residents, patients and clients are empowered to live with the greatest degree of comfort and independence possible. Our Foundation's efforts are focused on sustaining dignity, well-being and independence - elements we consider important in maintaining a vibrant quality of life. It is in this spirit that priority will be accorded to those programs best suited to enhance these qualities, whether through research and education, community-based services or general assistance.

In addition to programs that assist the elderly, equal consideration will be given to organizations and projects involving hospice and palliative care, and programs that address the needs of individuals requiring post-acute services.
